Saint Cosme is exceptionally located at the crossing of two geological faults, which is very rare. This gives an extraordinary diversity of soils. The microclimate is cool and late ripening. The ancient know-how, the organic viticulture and the understanding of the terroirs is part of the Chateau’s strong ideas, which strives to make wines which express their terroir with purity and personality. Balanced wines with a great ability to age.
Saint Cosme Cotes Du Rhone
A solidly built version, with crushed cherry and plum puree notes that meld with melted red licorice before singed juniper takes over on the finish.
Saint Cosme Crozes-Hermitage
Looking at the Northern Rhône releases from Louis, the 2018 Crozes Hermitage offers terrific depth of fruit as well as hints of violets and pepper, medium body, and fine tannins. It’s beautifully textured and just sings of Syrah.
Saint Cosme Chateauneuf-Du-Pape
A sleek, savory-edged version, which is also tightly coiled for the vintage, with red currant, plum and bitter cherry fruit notes lined by tobacco, dried garrigue and lavender. Delivers a nice, piercing iron note on the finish and has some latent depth, so no immediacy is necessary.
Saint Cosme Cote-Rotie
A racy, high-pitched, mineral-driven style, with raspberry and damson plum coulis notes pierced with savory and sanguine accents. The long, tight-grained, iron-edged finish resonates.
