The water of the island makes the Jura special, as its journey starts from the highest points of the island, is filtered by the wild mountains, and ends at the distillery.
Jura Journey
It’s the journey, not the destination that shapes us. The path from our foundation to the revival of our distillery in 1963 has shaped the vibrant character of our tiny island community and the whisky we make. This perfect marriage of Jura and hand selected American white oak ex bourbon casks results in notes of creamy vanilla, pecan pie and a touch of soft cinnamon and fresh pear. The ideal starting place for exploring our Jura range.
Jura 10 Year Old
A whisky only Jura could make, crafted in exceptionally tall stills and matured for 10 years in America White Oak ex bourbon barrels. The finishing touch is a finish in the finest aged Oloroso Sherry casks from Jerez, Spain. A sweet, smooth whisky with flavours of rich dark chocolate and vanilla cream throughout.
Jura 12 Year Old
This is Jura at its most intense and muscular, yet it remains an approachable whisky that makes the perfect accompaniment to a gathering. Bourbon cask maturation and an aged Oloroso sherry finish produce a honeyed sweetness that offer notes of warm spice, banana, soft citrus and a finish of freshly ground coffee and dark chocolate.
Jura Seven Wood
The ability of Jura’s tiny island community to reimagine and reinvent has allowed the distillery to thrive. Such vision has brought to life this complex single malt – a fitting tribute to the Master Blender’s skill. Layers of complexity and flavour emerge from a maturation journey that begins in American White Oak ex bourbon casks before a portion of the whisky is split between six different virgin oak casks sourced from across various regions of France. The result is a fruity and spicy whisky with flavours of crème caramel, baked peach and sweet liquorice.
Jura 18 Year Old
Matured for eighteen long years in American White Oak ex bourbon barrels, this whisky is then beautifully enriched by superior Premier Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux red wine barriques from the South of France. The result is an incredibly rich and fruity whisky, with flavours of cooked raspberries, warm spice, rich caramel and crème anglaise.
Jura 21 Year Old
Matured in American white oak ex bourbon barrels, this whisky is then finished in hand-selected virgin American white oak casks, giving it a sweet, fruity and nutty flavour. This truly special whisky is available worldwide.
Jura Rare Vintage 1984
A bottle celebrating George Orwell’s famous work, written on the Isle of Jura – 1984. Matured in ex-bourbon casks for 22 years before, 6 years of Gonzalez Byass Matusalem sherry and a final couple of years in Amoroso and Apostoles oloroso casks, this is a journey through wine, wood and spice.
Jura Rare Vintage 1988
A sophisticated, cask-strength 30-year-old from Jura. Matured in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in casks which previously held tawny port, this whisky layers thick, jammy fruit and spice atop creamy vanilla and fresh citrus, resulting in all the intricate complexity you’d expect from a whisky of this age.
Jura Rare Vintage 1989
Matured for over three decades in American white oak bourbon barrels, this 1989 Rare Vintage Jura single malt has an exotic character with aromas of honeyed pears, freshly-baked bread, ripe bananas and vanilla cake. The palate offers notes of peaches in syrup, cinnamon, toffee apples and sweet white chocolate.
