With eight generations of distilling heritage, the Whitley & Neill families have been involved in the creation of fine spirits since 1762, using the very best ingredients from around the world. As the son of a rector, J.J. Whitley spent most of his childhood in vicarages, firstly in Hereford and then in Daresbury, where he would play in Walton Hall Gardens. And it’s this traditional, rural English background that became the inspiration for his singularly-crafted gins.
J.J. Whitley London Dry
J.J. Whitley London Dry Gin is the product of eight generations of distilling history. It’s a classic London Dry recipe, which uses a blend of eight botanicals, including orange peel, lemon peel, juniper, angelica seeds, coriander seed, liquorice, cassia bark and orris root. Wonderful smoothness with clear notes of juniper, perfectly complemented by hints of citrus, spice and parma violets.
J.J. Whitley Pink Cherry
J.J. Whitley Pink Cherry Gin bursts with flavour and joins the JJ Whitley family that is inspired by flavours from the British countryside. A beautifully versatile gin that makes for a delicious twist on a G&T or cocktail. A sugary stone fruit and fresh orange almonds aroma with an initial sweetness leading into marzipan, sour cherry and juniper on the palate. The finish is smooth with cherry, almond and a little lingering spice.
J.J. Whitley Plum
J.J. Whitley Plum Gin is a delightfully flavoursome gin. As plum is part of the Rose family alongside cherries, apples and pears, it is no wonder that J.J Whitley Plum can be enjoyed in a myriad of different serves. A delicious fresh fruit nose with a hint of black pepper. On the palate, there is a sweet vanilla note followed with fruity plum and piny juniper. The finish comprises elements of stone fruit, flowers and spicy, cracked pepper.
J.J. Whitley Elderflower
J.J. Whitley spent much of his childhood in old Georgian and Victorian vicarages, latterly in Daresbury – the birthplace of Lewis Carroll. These vicarages would have had expansive kitchen gardens and natural hedgerows in which the young J.J. would have played. As he grew older, the English countryside became the natural source of key ingredients for tantalizing recipes like this Elderflower Gin, made with real elderflower extract. Candied sweetness, dominated by the unmistakable punch of elderflower with flicks of grassiness, orange blossom and honey.
