Aberlour
Aberlour is the seventh bestselling Scotch single malt. The distillery was rebuilt twice due to devastating fire damage; the first rebuild took place in 1879 and was financed by James Fleming. It was rebuilt again in 1898 and was redesigned by the architect Charles Doig.
Rather than boasting about the distinctive qualities of his Aberlour single malt, our founder, James Fleming remained true to his family’s motto since the days of Robert the Bruce, ‘Let the deed show.’ The proof is in the drinking.
This saying simply translates as, ‘actions speak louder than our words’. James Fleming let his whisky do the talking. It was his actions then, and the actions now of all our craftsmen that define the character of Aberlour.
Aberlour Double Cask 12 Year Old
The 12 year-old expression is a fine example of how the distinctively crisp, citrus character of Aberlour’s new distillate is deftly softened by double cask maturation. Traditional Oak and seasoned Sherry butts are both used to great effect, as the mellowed spirits within are combined to deliver a subtly balanced flavor. It’s characterized as soft and rounded with fruity notes of red apple along notes of fruity aromas and rich chocolate.
Aberlour Double Cask 14 Year Old
Introducing Aberlour 14, a new individual batch release that combines the makers careful craft with a deep understanding and respect for the natural maturation process. This approach retains the inherent character of the finest ingredients; imparting soft and gentle hints of blackcurrant and a rich creamy finish.
It’s the perfect balance of nature and nurture; rich and spicy yet subtle and elegant.
In recognition of its quality, the new Aberlour 14 Year Old has picked up several awards even before its launch – winning a coveted Double Gold medal at the prestigious International Wine and Spirits Competition 2020, and a Gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge 2020.
Aberlour Double Cask 16 Year Old
With the depth and complexity that comes from being matured for 16 years in a combination of American Oak casks and the finest Sherry butts, this expression’s warm and fruity notes are enriched by an engagingly spicy sweetness. It’s characterized as smooth and full with sweet, floral and spicy flavors and notes of plum and gentle oak.
Aberlour A’ Bunadh
Meaning ‘The original’ in Gaelic, A’bunadh is made in homage to Aberlour’s founder, James Fleming. A’bunadh is a whisky hand-made from start to finish with each batch being created to ensure a rich and complex flavor of moist raisin, and homemade fruit cake. It is bottled at cask strength resulting in a robust and deeply intense, sherried whisky.
