Cyprus’ top mixologists, gathered once more for the annual Jameson Bartender’s Ball, where 9 Cypriot bartenders competed to be the one who represents Cyprus in the international Jameson MixMaster competition.

The 9 contenders were required to show off their skills and talent by crafting a unique cocktail recipe, using Jameson Irish Whisky as a base. Under the theme “Taste of Home”, this year’s bartenders managed to impress judges with their use of local products, highlighting both the island’s cultural heritage and Jameson Irish Whiskey’s smooth, soft taste.

The 9 finalists came from the island’s best-known bars and venues. Block Cocktail Bar, Bottega Amaro, Lost and Found, Columbia Beach Hotel, Barrel House Bar, AlcoBros, Epsilon Restro Bar and Jigger. All finalists took guests and judges on a journey of aroma and flavour!

Natasa Petrou, having won the judge panel’s vote with her “Whiskey in the Heat” cocktail, won the competition and is packing her bags to represent Cyprus at the Jameson MixMaster competition, which will take place in Dublin.

Andreas Kyriakou with his “Sunday Trip” cocktail and Antonis Papantoniou with “Jame Cake” also stood out, winning 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

Jameson Irish Whiskey International Brand Ambassador Oisin Davis, owner of “42 Bar” in Athens Chris Houseas and Wine & spirits Professional Specialist George Loukakis were the judges of the competition.

The event was wrapped up under the sounds of Electro Swing, Rock n Roll, Blues and a live set by the Fabulous Dillingers Band. Funky and delicious street food was served, along with an assortment of other happenings and of course plenty of Jameson!
